Hello there,
I was wondering if Slippery Elm Bark would be considered an accepted supplement to take on this program and how you would calculate FP.
Thanks
I don’t think you need to be concerned about the FP of a supplement, kathy999. You should be careful not to take it with prescription medicine because the coating action can slow absorption. Take it a couple hours before/after medications. Also, as a precaution, do not take slippery elm if you are pregnant or nursing. While slippery elm is deemed to be safe, it is good to let your doctor know about any supplements you are taking.
Hi Kathy – I used Slippery Elm, Masrshmallow Root, and DGL supplements when I started the FT diet, as the acid blockers and Dropping Acid diet I had been prescribed for LPR had my digestive system inflamed. I still use Marshmallow Root/Slippery Elm/Gamma Oryzanol included in an enzyme supplement for sensitive stomachs called Acid Ease (for digesting starchy carbs).
