Drinking a half cup of dilute sodium bicarb might also be helpful for small amounts of acid in the esophagus. Say only about 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. The idea is to neutralize small amounts of acid in the esophagus, but limit the impact to your overall stomach acidity levels. Not guaranteed, just a thought.
